About Us

We are 5 minutes walk into Whitby town centre & we are lucky enough to have an enclosed garden, perfect for your little one or pet. There is parking in the streets around Sunnyside so once you are parked up you can forget about the car!

We have two bedrooms, one with a double bed & one with two singles that can be made into a king & space for a travel cot.

Steam Train


Take the steam train from Whitby to Pickering, take in the sites of Goathland  also known as Aidensfield in Heartbeat and other stunning North York Moor villages.

Walking /Cycling


The Cinder Track can be seen from Sunnyside Cottage. This is a popular trail along the former railway line between Whitby & Scarborough covering 21.5 miles.

Leading to cobbled Church Street where you will find plenty of shops & galleries and a Traditional kipper smoke house.

Whitby Abbey


The 13th Century Abbey was the inspiration for Bram Stoker's book Dracula.

Falling Foss Tea Garden


Is an enchanting tea garden set in the grounds of Midge Hall. let the children and pets play in the beck whilst enjoying a delicious cream tea with the raw of falling foss waterfall in the background.  


We loved staying at Sunnyside Cottage it felt like home from home! So cosy & we will definitely be back, Thank you!
